Got Healthspan?

Sent by Jeremy Zoch | June 2024

I've been enjoying the book, Outlive: The Science & Art of Longevity by Dr. Peter Attia along with Bill Gifford.

It encourages us to think and own our actions to help us increase our healthspan.

A lot of medicine over the past couple of hundred years has been focused on expanding our lifespan, but with the latest science and more understanding the focus shifts from extending life to expanding quality of life throughout our days.

The book engages all of us to take ownership for how we want to feel and act in our later years and what we need to do today to get there.

In other words, if you plan on snowboarding when you are 90, you may want to start working towards that today.

The focus is always on making positive nutritional choices and exercising, but also includes more intentional emphasis on other areas.

Healthspan includes balance, flexibility, and strength for our bodies.

In addition, healthspan highlights the importance of our cognitive, emotional, and social health.

Lastly, healthspan highlights the importance of sleep! We now know how important it is and why we need to figure out how to get it.

What is something you can add to your personal habits this month to increase your healthspan?

Until next month,
