Our Stories Shape Us

Happy New Year! We have started a new chapter. It is a powerful time at the beginning of this year to spend some time thinking about the journey ahead.
I encourage you to give yourself some time to yourself – an hour or two – to think about the year ahead.
What do you want to see more of in your life this year?
What do you want to see less of in your life this year?
What activities do you want to prioritize to make sure they happen, and how do you plan to experience them?
The beautiful thing about life is we can often add to the color and shape of it, but there will still be countless unknowns and unexpected twists along the way.
In my book, Life Lived Well, I highlight the beauty of flexibility and being grounded.
“Buddhist teachings talk about the middle road – the grounding and then the times we are on either side of the road and the flexibility. Many people resist change more as they grow comfortable with their foundation, but what would it look like to have more flexibility or, in some cases, to be more grounded?” (Life Lived Well, pg 82)
Being true to yourself, preparing, planning, and striving to be your very best help create our best selves, but being open to life’s unexpected twists, being present in the moment, and seeking gratitude in our experiences can help create our truest, richest stories and days.
Cheers to the year's unknowns. May we embrace them with flexibility and find beauty in the stories they unfold.
It is my goal to empower others to lead with purpose, prioritize their health and well-being, and chase their dreams relentlessly.
